Over the years, the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina has earned a national and even international reputation as a hub for creativity and culture, and four of the area’s destination marketing organizations (DMOs) have formed a unique partnership that aims to cross-promote arts and tourism throughout the region with this website.
The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau, Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau, Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau and Johnston County Visitors Bureau—all internationally accredited DMOs—have joined forces to encourage area residents, as well as visitors from farther afield, to explore visual and performing arts offerings in the family of communities that make up the Research Triangle Region.
Think of it as a stay-cation… you’ll be hard-pressed to run out of arts-related attractions and activities in our four-county and 2,300-square-mile region. This website provides a snapshot of Raleigh area, Durham, Johnston and Orange County arts assets, with deeper links to each of the DMOs’ comprehensive arts listings, where visitors can also book packages, reservations and tickets online.
Each destination in the Triangle has a rich enough arts scene to be experienced and savored on its own, and not every visitor can stay overnight long enough to take in all four destinations on a single trip. The promise of this website is to showcase what can be experienced on future day-trips or overnight visits to the Triangle.
Spend some time with www.artsinthetriangle.com, and when you’re ready for more official visitor information, check out our destination-specific arts sites. Let us know how we can serve you on your next arts excursion here.
